What to expect between 10-12 months
- Chewing and swallowing
- Using his fingers to feed himself
- Baby teeth coming in
At 10 months, your baby is mastering feeding himself. This seemingly simple task requires many skills: pinching small items between forefinger and thumb, raising it to the mouth, pulling the food in with the lips, and using the tongue to push the food from the front to the back of the mouth. It’s no wonder mealtime can be exciting and, at times, frustrating for your little one – and you!
Sometime between 6 months and a year, your baby’s first tooth will appear. You will need to keep your baby’s new teeth healthy by cleaning them every day.
