Each NUK Pretensil has a smaller easy-grip handle designed for baby's natural grasp and developing motor skills. Your little one can easily feed themselves with the dipper spoon, which has special grooves and channels that trap food, making it ideal for purees and homemade mashed foods. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Self Feeders I received this Nuk pretinsil set as part of Stellars testing panel. It seems to be well designed- the tines easily pick up food like fruit and the spoon has a backing so softer food won’t fall off. My baby is 9 mo old and in the “throw everything off the high chair” mode so unfortunately I wasn’t able to get him to do much with the pretinsils. He was able to hold them easily himself and eat fruit off them when I fed him. He hasn’t reached the stage where he’s able to feed himself with utensils yet so I’m not able to give the most thorough review. I think these will be great when he’s a little older or for babies that have already been feeding themselves!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to hold I received this utensil set from Stellar Product Testing Panel and I had found it to be helpful. I like that it includes both a spoon and a fork. The design of the spoon is perfect for the age of my duaghter. She is just starting to learn to feed herself and she does not have the ability to bring the spoon to her mouth without spilling it. This spoon is designed to keep the food on it so baby can get it to their mouth but have that hand movement of still holding the spoon. The food is made to easily pick up any food without having the poke it just right. However, I do find it can still be difficult to pick up most foods. It's still great for starting to learn to eat. The guard on both is great to prevent gagging. Overall, these are a perfect set for a baby to start learning how to use utensils and have fun eating their food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect starter set This spoon and fork set was the perfect starter for our 7 month old.  The short, thick handles make it easy for her to hold onto and get to her mouth. I especially like the 'guard' on the spoon that allows her to suck on it without accidentally gagging herself and I'm thankful she has the chance to practice feeding herself in a safe way. Our baby has used this set for yogurt and purees and I was so pleased with how well most of the food stayed on the spoon and fork all the way to her mouth. I was given this feeding accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it has been just right for the beginning of independent eating for our daughter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Safe Baby Utensils Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the feeding accessory, Nuk Pretensil Set. My 11 month old daughter is learning to use utensils and these were very easy for her to grab and safe to use. The spoon has a “stopper” so she doesn’t insert it too deep, and the fork has a soft protection around it so she doesn’t poke/hurt herself. She enjoyed being able to eat more independently. Today we practiced using the utensils for breakfast with mashed avocado and pieces of banana.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit the mark for BLW I was excited when I received this feeding accessory from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 1 year old has been eating solid food since 5 months old, and usually chooses her hands over utensils (cute, and efficient, but messy!). We've tried a few utensils that I preload and hand to her and that helps a little so I was anxious to see if these would be more helpful. Unfortunately, these really missed the mark for me. The first thing I didn't like was that the plastic wasn't smooth on one edge of the spoon. Since my daughter has a lot of teeth already she is fantastic at gnawing on everything aggressively, and I was worried she would be able to grind down the plastic. I was able to take off the loose strands of plastic before trying it out. It worked okay for dipping in things like greek yogurt because it stuck on, but did not work well for anything thinner. Next, we tried the fork with watermelon, sweet potato, and peas. Pieces of the food got stuck inside each time, and not even I could get it out. So, it became like a challenge for her to suck on instead of practicing piercing and picking up food. I really wanted to love these. I think that for someone doing typical baby food purees, and soft soft food with a young baby, and preloading the utensils, they could work out better. I'm still glad to have given them a try though! Figuring out the best tools to teach a baby how to eat on their own is tricky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first set of cutlery for baby I received the Nuk Pretensil set as part of the Stellar Review Panel. The timing was perfect as my 7 month old daughter is starting to get really into not only eating solids, but attempting to feed herself, so I was eager to get started using them right away! Because my baby is still pretty young, she didn’t completely master the art of eating herself, but she had fun trying! We mostly used the spoon, and used it for things like yogurt, puréed foods, avocado, and assorted fruits and veggies. My daughter is always trying to grab the spoon from me, and I let her give it a go, simply trying to guide her to get more food onto it. What I like about the spoon and fork is that it has a guard type thing keeping the food from sliding off. I also like that the fork has many tines, so easier to pick up the food and keep it on!! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone teaching their baby to eat independently. I am excited to keep using the set as my daughter gets older and continues to get better at feeding herself!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Baby loved this mostly for teething My daughter is 8 months old and mostly just plays with utensils during feeding, but sometimes tries to use them as intended. The first time I tried feeding her with the Nuk spoon, her whole face lit up and she immediately started trying to play with it. The shape is perfect for her - both for eating and to explore and teethe with. She was able to eat purées, eggs, and oatmeal successfully with the spoon. The fork is okay, but we get more use out of the spoon. Perhaps when she’s a bit older, and has better control over utensils, the fork will be used more. I don’t love the plastic-based material. I wouldn’t use it everyday due to that, but once in a while is okay. I also didn’t like how the material wasn’t listed on the package and I had to dig online to find out what it was made of. Overall, the spoon made her happy so we will continue using it. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this feeding set!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW Wish these were adult sized Wow! I am absolutely blown away by this fork and spoon set! I kindly received the product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My one year old has a few different sets of utensils, but the NUK Pretensil Set is by far our favorite and go to! Not only is it aesthetically sleek and appealing but also the design is genius!! I love the stopper on the spoon to keep it from going too far in. The size and shape of the utensils are very easy for my son to hold and use. So far we have used these with pasta, pizza, chicken, ground meat, veggies, and mashed potatoes. The groove on the spoon kept the potatoes from falling off and the teeth on the fork literally gripped spaghetti like it was nothing. I honestly wish these were adult sized! My favorite feature is the amazing teeth on the fork that pick up food that is usually troublesome to stab with other baby utensils.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wanted to like it I received this feeding accessory from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really wanted to like this set. It looked like it would be perfect for my newly 1 year old, but the fork just wasn’t that great. We do love the spoon though! The size of the handles was perfect and the stopper on both utensils was so helpful! My babe was able to hold the spoon herself and feed herself for the first time! The fork was another story. I thought I would love the idea of the extra prongs, but it seemed to make it harder to pick up the food. If the spoon sold separately, I would definitely be buying more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An upgrade but not perfect I tried the Nuk pretensil set for my 10 month old gifted by Stellar Testing Panel. There are some pros: -Material is great for chewing on. -Spoon has a guard to help babies know how far back to put the spoon in their mouth. -Fork actually has soft tines which helps baby hands use it easier. And cons (which strangely enough are similar to the pros): -Spoon has a guard. This prevents baby from using the spoon as a teething/exploration tool. -While the tines on the fork help with keeping food in place, I also found food got stuck down in them easily, making it hard for my guy to get it out - especially true with softer things like scrambled eggs. Overall it’s a good tool and a great starter set. I’d definitely consider gifting it to a new mama friend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These worked great My son 12 month old did really well with these. He has been wanting to feed himself lately and these worked great for him. He used the spoon for oatmeal a lot and was able to hold it and make it in his mouth. I loved that it had the barrier so he did not push it too far in his mouth. We let him try the fork with spaghetti and he loved being able to be independent and not use his hands. He was able to get the noodles and meat up really well. The form is different from anything I have seen before. It is a great started set! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this feeding accessory.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NUK pretensils I was given this feeding accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I introduced this set to my 1yo twins and it's the perfect size for their little hands. I like that the fork is soft and I don't need to worry about any injuries! However, food would just get stuck in the prongs and it was a pain to get it out. I think once they are a little older it will be easier for them to maneuver their teeth in a way to get the food out but for right now it isn't convenient. The spoon is an interesting concept but I prefer a traditional spoon. The Nuk one is flat and has holes and I think a "normal" spoon with a bowl in it works better. These have held up really well in the dishwasher so that's a plus. Overall, I will use the fork more when my toddlers are a bit bigger but I will pass on the spoon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for little hands These baby utensils are amazing, I love that they are thick and plastic, more like soft rubber which makes it so much easier for our daughter. They are easy to grip and hold onto because of the rubber slip proof. I love when she’s putting with the spoon it is completely different than the other baby spoons because you’re able to just dip it and it will hold onto the spoon. The fork is awesome, she’s actually able to pick up food herself with the fork and it stays on and makes it into her mouth for a change. I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel for my honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best first utensil set Really love this utensil set. My son is always trying to grab the spoon when I feed him. One of the best features about these is that they have a guard part that keeps him from accidentally gagging himself on the spoon or fork by shoving them too far down his throat which he always does. And they are the perfect size for his hands. The spoon has been great for purées and keeping them from falling right off when he turns the spoon over and the fork has been great as we’ve been starting solids. Wish I had these when my daughter was starting out eating. I am so glad I received these items as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter utensil set Enjoyed testing out and trying with my daughter the NUK Pretensil Set. And thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this feeding accessory! My daughter was very interested in trying the fork and spool, they were easy to use and helpful. My daughter is a bit on the older end (18 months), however for these tools, but the fork provided some good practice in control and how to spear various foods. With that said, these are pretty perfect tools and I had a similar set of the spoon / dipper when my daughter was younger. The NUK set is much better made, though, and I will likely buy another set when my second daughter reaches food eating age.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good set I received this set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and thought it was a decent utensil set for babies. The dipper/spoon was easy for my new eater to use for yogurt and thicker purees. I particularly liked the collar on the spoon so they couldn't stick it down their throat. Baby didn't seem to like the fork much, preferring to use their hands instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helper utensils This arrived just on time as my son is wanting to feed himself and reaches for my fork during every meal time. He immediately loved the fork. It is easy for food to stick onto so he can make it to his mouth without the food falling off. The spoon hasn’t worked as well, but we are working on it! Make sure to clean the fork spaces very well as food can stick. This is a great learner set for little ones trying to feed themselves! Thank you stellar panel for sending us a fun product for development.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for trips Recently took this on a trip abroad and found it extremely useful for baby. This product is very portable and efficient for being on the go as well as easy to clean. Our baby is just starting to learn how to feed himself and this also helped ease the anxiety of him hurting himself with the fork while eating fruit or pasta. This will be our go to utensil set in the future for trips. Thanks stellar panel for letting us test this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NUK Pretensil Set Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this feeding accessory! My 11 month old loved this feeding set. It was extremely easy for him to grip. We are just starting to introduce utensils so this was great to try out with different foods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect too for transitioning to solids I received this feeding accessory from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 10 month old has been eating solids for a few months now but as her dexterity improves I wanted her to start practicing with a spoon and fork. This set is a great tool for babies in this stage. The utensil set is easy to grip and safe for my baby to chew on as well. I’ve noticed she loves to use it as a chew toy as well. The spoon allows for food to stick to it as baby learns to use a spoon properly. The fork also features soft rubber bristles vs sharp metal. I love the gentle option for my baby as she learns to eat with them safely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great utensils for baby led weaning These are amazing utensils for a baby learning to eat. My girl could hold these easily and they really helped her to copy us while we were using regular utensils. The fork really holds food better than any other baby utensils she has tried with the extra layer of tongs. We were sent these from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to try out and leave an honest review. We would definitely get more of these ourselves!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great product by Nuk I was given this feeding accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. These Nuk utensils are very sturdy and my daughter was able to hold them on her own very easily. She's still learning to feed herself and mostly loved to chew on them. This spoon has a larger oval piece on it so that she can't get it far down her throat as she's chewing on it. I've found with other utensils she gets carried away with chewing on them and can gag herself easily. We haven't had that issue with the Nuk utensils! I know spoons and forks are relatively new to her so I like that she can chew on these as she's discovering how to properly use them. I really like how this fork is made. It doesn't have the sharp prongs like most kid forks do but it still functions like a fork so she can learn how to use it without possibility poking herself in the face. Highly recommend these utensils for any parent who is trying to help their child gain independence and learn how to feed themselves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NUK Pretensils I recently received the NUK Pretensil set from Stellar product testing panel and let me say they are great for my little ones. My littlest just turned one and has a hard time grasping the typical "flat" forks and spoons for toddlers. The NUK Pretensil set has a good width to the handle and great length just for the little ones. Even the older kids enjoy trying out new things and had no problems using the set. We ate yogurt with the spoon and cereal. Veggies and eggs with the fork and everything in between. The fork was our favorite, it was easy to pick things up without it dropping off and the spoon has a great "guard" on it so yogurt cannot run down the handle. The only thing I wasn't excited about was, how the fork cleaned. Some things would get stuck in the tines an I would have to really work on getting them out. Other than that this NUK Pretensil set has been great for our entire family.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great training set I received this item for my honest review through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This set is excellent for training a baby to use a fork and spoon. The fork has multiple prong making it easy for a baby/toddler to pick up food. I love this feature, but the only down fall is food gets stuck at the top of the prongs and it is difficult to get out. My son was able to eat everything with it; eggs, carrots, chicken. The spoon has grooves in it to help a baby “scoop” up food. The handle is the perfect size for a little hand and is not terrible for an adult hand either. The BEST feature for me is it is dishwasher safe. With two little, energetic boys this feature is a must for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use This fork & spoon set was relatively easy for my 6 month old to use. He ate mashed up bananas, avocado, salmon & more with both utensils. He got the Shang of dipping the spoon into his food & getting it into his mouth fairly easy. The fork tended to take a tad more work for him to do himself, but I know with more practice he will get it soon. I ended up putting the food on the fork & he would feed himself from there. I really like the compact size of the fork & spoon. Easy to take in the diaper bag & use on the go. The only thing I found a tad difficult was cleaning of the fork. It won’t deter me from using it, just noticed food could get stuck easily & need to be removed. I believe these utensils will help my baby learn how to feed himself more independently. Overall a great item for babies to begin eating. I received this product as part of Stellar product testing panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect starter for babies I received this feeding accessory from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This utensil set is a perfect stater for babies learning to control their own feeding. The size of the handle makes it easy for baby to grab and coordinate movements. I like that there is the stopper on the spoon so baby can't shove it too far in mouth and cause gaging. The fork has multiple tines to increase baby's chance of picking up food, but I did notice that the food sometimes gets stuck between the tines and doesn't easily come off in baby's mouth. The tines are soft enough to not hurt when they have accidental pokes to the cheek. We started out using it at 6 months of age. We'll be able to watch baby continue to learn and grow with this set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for learning babies My opinion is that the NUK pretenses set is pretty average. If you’re in need of learning utensils for your baby these would be good. I thought it was a little difficult to scoop things with the “spoon”, but maybe something like yogurt would be better (we mostly used with cottage cheese). The fork worked fine with small macaroni noodles, but it probably won’t be long until we start using a regular children’s fork with my 11 month old. The handles are a really good length and shape for a learning baby, though. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this feeding accessory!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome beginner utensils Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for this utensil set, it has been great for my 6 month old. He has been learning to bring food to his mouth and these are just the right size. The spoon and fork are both fit little hands and spoon has a drip guard that also helps prevent gagging by stopping the spoon from going so far in baby's mouth. The fork's gentle tines easily stab soft foods like avocado or cooked veggies and meat, but they don't hurt baby's mouth when eating. The spoon and fork both deliver just the right amount of food for little mouths. I am impressed with the quality, and the only change I would make would be to make the entire utensil body the same material as the tines and spoon dipper, so all ends are gentle in baby's mouth. I would have liked to see some kind of mission statement on the packaging to know what "Nuk for Nature" stands for, or what their goals are. I assume the line is for promoting their 100% recyclable packaging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and easy for baby to use I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I personally love this set for my baby. I could see that he had an easier time getting green beans with this fork, and even easier time with oatmeal or yogurt with this spoon. I think it has really helped him to refine that fine motor skill, which I think is amazing. And I love that this came in a neutral color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from uniquely helpful For me, these unique utensils have two functions. First, my child (9 months old) can actually manage to get food on them to bring to his mouth. He’s learned that he can simply roll and jab one of the utensils around in his mashed banana or avocado then bring it back to his mouth. This is incredible to me, as it took my two older kids much longer to figure that out, and I give almost all the credit to the pretensil set. Their second (unintended) function is as a teether. My baby has two teeth so far and the spoon especially seems to rub all the right places on his gums. I’ve never had or seen utensils like these, and we are both delighted with them! I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel but that does not affect my review.
