Description
Take your little one to open-cup drinking in no time. With the adjustable lid design, the NUK® Sip Trainer Cup is a great introductory cup to help teach your baby how sip just like a big kid. Twist the lid to choose one of the 3 flow speeds—Intro, Slow, and Open Flow—to transition your child to drinking from an open-face cup without the frustration of too much water at once. They will become more comfortable tipping and sipping from their cup, as they develop their drinking skills. When your child is done drinking, the toddler cup locks with its twist-to-close lid. The Sip Trainer Cup is easy to clean and assemble, and is the perfect toddler cup for developing natural drinking skills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soppy Cup I received this sippy cup from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My child is new to sippy cups so it took some time getting used to but once he got it it worked great! I love that you can change flows and even lock the lid which makes it great for throwing in the diaper bag and not having to worry about spills. Super easy to clean and now my go to sippy cup for on the go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NUK open cup trainer I received this training cup from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I thought the NUK Sip Trainer Cup was just okay. While I am not in love with it, I can see it has some promising qualities. Pros: Has 3 different speeds available as well as the ability to close it off completely when traveling. Light weight and easy for a younger child to lift and hold. At one of the slower speeds it made it so my daughter was not gulping in as much water. It was easy to clean, limited parts, and intuitive to use. Cons: Let me preface this by saying my daughter is 17 months old and already using a variety of different cups. This particular cup didn’t really work for her, but I think it could have it we had started it from a younger age. The one training type cup we have she is used to being able to throw around, tip upside down, and leave on it’s side, etc. This cup however, if left in one of the open positions, will spill everywhere. And while the lightweight nature of the cup might be good for some younger kids, for her it just made her more likely to toss it around. She already has a grasp on the idea that heavier cups she has to be more careful and gentle with. In addition, the lightweight nature makes her less careful when tilting her head back and drinking. So, she often would still gulp in water because she was not being as careful, slow, and deliberate. Finally, a minor thing, but I am not personally a fan of plastic. Overall, I think this training cup has a lot of promise, but in my opinion you should be started at a younger age and introduced slowly with more care. While it didn’t really work for us, I think it certainly could work for other kids.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nuk Sip Trainer Cup This month my 10 month old baby and I got to try out the Nuk Sip Trainer Cup thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel! When the Nuk Sip Trainer Cup arrived and I saw what it was I got really excited! It looked to be the perfect cup trainer for a baby. Look wise it was great, it’s an easy shape for a baby to hold. A little narrower at the bottom for an easier grip and a little wider around the rip for more access for their little mouths. Now the top of the Nuk Sip Trainer Cup is what I thought was genius. There is a dial where you can change the flow amount of drink that comes out. There are 3 notches and there is also a lock. While the idea is great, it was still hard for my baby. He has definitely struggled with drinking from it. The smallest opening is still a bit too much of a flow for him. The lock definitely works and I haven’t had any spills with it, so that is definitely great. When he gets frustrated with it he will throw it and it spills everywhere because it’s open. With that being said, we are still continuing to try! I knew it was going to be a learning curve and that is ok! It’s super easy to clean which is great plus! I’m so happy that we were given the opportunity to try this product! We’ll get the hang of it soon with a little perseverance!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great sippy cup Although there is a learning curve with this cup, I think it will end up being one of our favorites. I love that there are different flow options to grow with our son. There is a lock option that completely prevents spills which is great! The learning curve is that the cup isn’t inherently spill proof so accidents happen quite often if you didn’t lock the lid - but practice makes perfect! It’s one of the best training cups I’ve seen, and it’s a breeze to clean. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sippy cup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Faster Flow Cup My 14-month-old did okay with learning to drink from this cup. It took a few tries, and she had to learn to set it down correctly. If the cup is on its side, it leaks. She loved playing with the puddle, and I was left with a big mess. The adjustable flow was okay. I felt like the cup was a fast flow on the lowest setting. It took some getting used to for my child. The lock mode was a nice feature, and it’s something that I haven’t seen on similar-style cups. It made the cup easy to transport. The cup was easy enough to clean and only had three pieces. I loved throwing it in the dishwasher. The tricky part is getting the cup to fit back together. The middle inserts and twists into the top. It can be finicky to put it back in. If it’s not perfect, I can’t lock it all the way. This is honestly the last kid's cup I use. All in all, it’s a good cup. It’s not the first cup I reach for when preparing a cup for mealtime. I guess that she was not quite ready for this cup developmentally as the flow was too fast. I think I will try it again in a few months when she is closer to 18 months. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sippy cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sippy cup I really liked how this cup had adjustable flow knob on the lid. I was able to try all flows and found that the slowest worked best for my son. It took him a couple tries to figure out the cup but he ended up figuring it out. I also liked how this cup has a lock mode so that it didn’t spill when it got dropped on the floor. I was given this sippy cup to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flow Control Training Cup I received the cup as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel in-exchange for my honest review. This cup has three different flow setting. At the slowest setting, it is a good flow for my son to start learning how to drink from a cup. He was really excited to start using a cup and this one is super easy to clean. It is also travel friendly as you can close the cup to prevent spill and easily turn to adjust the flow setting for your baby to use. You can increase the flow as your baby gets better at using the cup. The shape is also very easy for the baby to hold the cup as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice transition to cup I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This was the first cup we tried as a transition from sippy and straws. My child definitely took time to figure it out but eventually understood. I like the fact that the flow is adjustable to help him learn how to drink without drowning in liquid. It was very easy to clean and I love that I can just pop it in the dishwasher. Will definitely buy more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nuk Sip Trainer Cup As a mom on the go, I appreciated receiving this Nuk Sip Trainer Cup as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We put it to use immediately with my 13 month old. My child has mastered drinking from a straw but this was the first attempt at a more open cup. We used the lowest flow and after several tries, he is well on his way to mastering this. He is able to hold the cup quite well on his own as long he grabs it in the middle where it is skinnier. There were a few frustrating sessions when he attempted to hold it higher or lower and his little hands couldn’t get around the cup but he is more consistent now with grabbing it in the right spot. We’ve adjusted the flow to be a little faster for water, but it is convenient to dial it back down for milk or juice until he has more practice. This cup travels well without spilling due to the lock mode. I am confident enough to tuck it in the pocket of the diaper bag for easy access. Upon getting back home after an outing, it is easy to clean on the top shelf of the dishwasher.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish this was the first sippy cup we tried We received this sippy training cup as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This was very easy for my 15 month old to use, but they were very used to using a cup they have to suck from another competitor. So it took a couple tries to get the hang of. I really wish this cup was out there when we first started sippy cup training. It’s the best of both worlds, it has a lid but comes out similar to a open cup. We have tried all flows, I think the lowest flow was still best for us at his age and after being used to other sippy cups. Easy to clean, easy to use, win win for a parent and baby!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute sippy cup but takes practice I was given this sippy cup to try and past of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My three year old is learning to drink from an open cup so I thought this would be the perfect product to train him. The cup itself is cute and sturdy. The top has a few different notches. There is one where the cup is completely closed and then three levels to drink from. I tried the cup at the first level with my son, however, I found even at this level the water flow was too heavy and it ended up getting all over him at first. We worked on it a couple days and he finally got the hang of it. The next levels up are still too fast of a flow for him but I think with practice this cup will teach him to be an efficient open cup drinker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Everything it was cracked up to be I received this cup from a stellar product testing panel. The idea of this cup is great. It seems easy to use and clean. However giving it to my son with his meals became a problem. He turns it upside down and soaks his food with water instead of drinking. If I lock it he gets frustrated he can’t drink from it. It may work well for some, but it’s not for my kid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job This cup works the way it is intended too. My child did not particularly like using this cup because he prefers to drink from a straw. I think he will have more success with this cup once he is a little older, but right now he couldn’t tip the cup on his own and got frustrated that he couldn’t get the water out. We received this product as part of the stellar product testing panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great transition cup I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This is a great trainer cup to help your little one transition to a regular cup! I've had some trouble with transitioning my toddler out of a sippy cup but with the help of the NUKS sip trainer cup my toodler can drink out of a regular cup I would say 75% better than before! I like the lock mode feature because it definitely does not spill. It took him some time to get used to but now I don't have to worry about him not being able to drink liquids without a straw!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love it We received this cup from Stellar to test and review. I loved the idea of this cup! A cup with an adjustable flow that was easy to clean was ideal. However, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The cup was difficult for my 19 month old to drink from. Even on the lowest flow setting it made a mess. I even drank from it myself and since the water flows from everywhere, it was messy even for me. I loved the idea of a locking lid. It is super easy to clean and the cup was cute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Trainer Cup Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sippy cup. My two year old child is able to drink very easily from this cup. The adjustable flow knob is a nice feature. My child has a hard time on the lightest flow but the medium flow works great! We are also able to completely close the lid to help prevent spills. Great for taking in the car and storing in a diaper bag. The cup comes apart easily for easy cleaning and storage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work in progress I tried so hard to get a picture of kiddo using this but he just moves so much because he gets so excited when he sees the cup that the pictures were almost all blurry. We received the NUK sip training cup from stellar product testing panel and have been using it for a few weeks now. It's been really great for my 9 month old to practice using a cup. He still likes to watch the water pour out more than he likes to drink from it so we have it on the lowest flow setting. It's super easy to turn it closed all the way when he flips it over or open it more when he's actually drinking from it. Once he decides he's done drinking we just lock it and let him play with it so he can get used to holding it and hopefully learn top from bottom. I really like how easy to clean the cup is, the lock comes apart so I can thoroughly clean it either by hand or in the dishwasher. It's a really great trainer cup, but I do wish I could slow the flow even more. The lock helps minimize spills; it doesn't leak at all when locked, which is a huge improvement over some other trainer cups we've tried. I think once he gets better at it I'll probably like it even more, he's just still learning. We practice with it every day so hopefully he'll start figuring it out soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Training Cup Success We have been loving the Nuk sippy cup for our 8 month old! She has been loving learning how to use the cup like a big girl. I love that there are different levels you can adjust the cup to as your baby gets more accustomed to learning how to drink out of the cup. The cup is also cute and light weight so it’s easy for her to hold. We have tried out a few different cups with her but this one has been great for learning how to use a cup (rather than other styles that have spouts and straws) This review was done as a Stellar Panel Product review

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Throw and go The NUK Sip Trainer Cup is the most convenient cup to grab and go! My daughter is 6.5 months, it took her a some practice to hold but she is still a little young probably for a cup.I throw it in my diaper bag and don’t have to worry about spills. The adjustable flow knob was helpful to prevent my baby from drinking too fast causing her to cough and it is so easy to clean. I will definitely be ordering more. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for introducing this cup to me and my baby!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design I received the NUK Training Cup through the Stellar product testing panel. My daughter is 15 months and pretty advanced for her age and she was unable to use this cup due to poor design. Even when I set the cup on the lowest flow she could not use it because she would bring it up to drink and liquid would spill out of multiple places. I thought okay maybe she just isn’t ready for this cup but then I tried it it spilled all over me. The lock mode was nice because it did actually lock the cup and prevent spills. I like the concept of this cup, but overall I would not recommend this cup due to poor design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Training Cup I received this product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review. I was really excited to try this cup because my son is at the stage where he has mastered sippy cups and now has become interested in drinking out of "big boy cups." It is such a struggle to let him drink out of one without him wearing most of it by the end. This cup fills the gap we didn't know how to fill! My son was able to drink out of this cup so easily and he picked up so quickly on how to use it. After a few tries, he already had the concept down and was excited to use it. I love the adjustable flow knob on the lid. This made it so easy to make it customizable to the training level my son was at. We started at the slowest flow rate and have been practicing on the next flow level. The lock mode was essential in preventing leaks while traveling or on the go. It helped give me the peace of mind that I wouldn't find a puddle of liquid in the bottom of my diaper bag. This was also great when my son was finished drinking but still wanted to carry the cup around like he does his sippy cup. Just a quick lock and he was good to carry it everywhere! This cup was so easy to use! There was a bit of a learning curve the first time I took it apart to clean it, but after that it was quick and simple to do. We use this cup every day and will definitely invest in more so we have some to leave at the grandparents' houses too! Definitely recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design I was given this sippy cup to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This is a great cup! My little one still needs a A LOT of practice drinking out of a cup, but this is a good start. I like that I can control the flow of this cup (we use the lowest amount of flow) and that it’s light enough for my baby to hold all by himself. It’s also a great size so that he can grip it easily. My baby is very curious and loves to turn the cup upside down, resulting in spills, so for now he’s limited to using it in his high chair. I’m hoping that after a while he’ll get a hang of it and we’ll be able to use it more often. I like that it’s a simple design, but I would love to see more neutral colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NUK Training Cup I was given this sippy cup to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The NUK Training Cup is great for little ones transitioning from a sippy cup to an open cup. It took some practice but my 14 month old quickly took to the cup. The cup has 3 flow speeds to pick from. We are still using the slowest flow as my little one is still mastering the cup. You can also lock the top for when it is not in use to prevent spills and leaks. We use this cup when my little one is in his highchair, so multiple times a day, for meals. We leave the lid unlocked during meals so it can become messy if he knocks the cup over. I feel like this a great learning tool though, if you have the patience. The top is easily taken apart for cleaning. We will continue using this cup until my little one is ready for an open cup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the concept but I am a bad mom I received this cup as part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel and I've been meaning to try them out. I love the idea of this cup. But I'm such a bad mom that my child is almost 4 and I haven't trained him out to use a real cup. He has a tough time going slow and the reason I didn't give it a higher score is...yes, it's MY fault that he can't figure out a cup, but I also wish there was a better way to make the water come out even slower. I feel like it's either closed or WATER EVERYWHERE. Again, I'm willing to admit it's mostly my fault, but we've had a lot of wet shirts over here. Overall, it's worth trying...just try it on kids younger than mine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Straw drinker transition to cup I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 11 month old is a pro and drinking from straws. He is also a pro at holding a cup if it has handles. So this trainer cup excited me to begin helping him learn to sip from a regular cup! He knows what to do if I lift it to his mouth and tip it up. I am starting with the lowest flow level. But he’s not getting the lift and tilt part himself. I do like this cup because it is different levels of flow, it’s easy to throw in the dishwasher and it isn’t bulky! The knob adjuster on top is easy to use and it doesn’t leak when fully locked. That being said when my child is in his high chair during a meal he does constantly spill it trying to use the cup himself - as he can’t adjust it from open to close himself. We will keep trying but I may re-introduce this cup when he’s grasped more of the lift and tilt himself to avoid water everywhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use This cup is really simple to use. We liked the slow flow as we’ve done well with straws but are still getting the hang of drinking from an “open cup” without getting a face full of water. It’s a little large for my 9 month olds hands, but in the coming months this will be a really helpful cup. It’s nice that it seals to prevent spills bc we can throw it in our bag or seal it up when we inevitably get distracted and decide that drinking time is over. Love that you can toss it in the dishwasher! We received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great transition cup to open cup Super cool idea for a cup. We know it’s great for our son to start drinking from an open cup but it takes a lot of time and effort. He usually just dumps it all straight on his face. This cup is the solution! We received this cup as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel and I’m so glad we did! Locks so you can take it anywhere. Changes flow you you can start with a slower flow and progress to higher flow volume. It’s cute and easy to clean. Of course our son is still learning so it still takes some time and effort to show him how to use and reduce mess but instead of having him dump the whole cup on his face, now he just spills a little bit-enough to learn to slow down. This is the perfect cup to transition to open up!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spills I received the Nuk sip Trainer Cup through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Having a child that learned to drink from a straw from 7 months on, this cup was particularly hard for her. She wasn’t quite getting the concept of tipping it when she had never had to tip any of her other cups to drink. Even on the lowest flow she spilled it everywhere because her mouth wasn’t completely around the opening like a straw. We practiced for a week, but she couldn’t quite get the hang of it and I was cleaning up more of a mess with water all over her tray with food and her clothes all wet. The idea of the flow changing is nice in theory but for my kiddo who is used to a straw didn’t quite get the hang of it. The cleaning of the cup was easy. I think this cup would have been helpful if we started with a open mouth cup to learn the tipping motion to get the drink without completely dumping the cup. She liked playing with the cup and getting all wet more than she liked the functionality of drinking from it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Training Cup We are using the Nuk sip trainer cup to help our 2 1/2 year old daughter transition to open mouth cups. I love this cup. The adjustable flow feature makes all the difference, because it allows the cup to function just like an open mouth cup, but with WAY less spillage. I mean she’s still learning so there are spills, but they’re so much smaller and easier to manage than fully open cups. Also you can lock the top and it works surprisingly well, no liquid spills out on that setting so it’s easy to grab and go. Easy cleaning is very important to me, and the cup is dishwasher safe so that’s a win. It’s also really easy to take the lid apart for cleaning. I received this cup as part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel at no cost, and I’m glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NUK sip trainer cup My wife and I recieved this Nuk sip trainer cup through Stellar product testing panel. We were super excited to recieve this cup as our 18 month old baby girl insisted on drinking from big girl cups. It was difficult however because of how big the cups were relative to her size. The Nuk cup was perfect in that it was easy for her to drink by adjusting the flow of the cup. She loved it and enjoys toasting with it as she recently learned to do that before every single drink. I do have to say that she does need supervision as she likes to play with it and occasionally does turn it over and the liquids to spill out. This is a trainer cup and not a sippy bottle where the straw prevents water from spilling (so no straws included with this). The knob on the top is clearly marked and you hear a click when you adjust the flow. There are 3 flow settings- and only in these settings do the liquids spill out when turned over. If the knob is in the closed position there are no spills or leaks even when placed upside down. My daughter is unable to turn the knob herself at this point. I'm hoping that when she is able to turn it, she won't need the trainer cup anymore! The cap/cover is easily screwed on to the base and both are incredibly easy to clean.
