Description
Take your little one to open-cup drinking in no time. With the adjustable lid design, the NUK® Sip Trainer Cup is a great introductory cup to help teach your baby how sip just like a big kid. Twist the lid to choose one of the 3 flow speeds—Intro, Slow, and Open Flow—to transition your child to drinking from an open-face cup without the frustration of too much water at once. They will become more comfortable tipping and sipping from their cup, as they develop their drinking skills. When your child is done drinking, the toddler cup locks with its twist-to-close lid. The Sip Trainer Cup is easy to clean and assemble, and is the perfect toddler cup for developing natural drinking skills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Teaching the Basics Thanks to Stellar Panel Reviews, we were able to try the NUK Sip Trainer Cup for our 18-month old child. Overall, I thought the concept of the cup is great for teaching the motions of a normal cup. The color and design of the cup were nice. We were only able to use the cup on the slowest flow because we’re just learning how to use it. I actually think there were too many fast flow options and not enough slower flow. We’ll definitely keep using this cup for now until we get the hang of the motions to switch to and open cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sip Trainer Cup My 10 month old was still using mostly bottles so we were excited to give this sip trainer cup a go! It took a few tries but seemed pretty intuitive and he did get the hang of using it, which was great. The adjustable flow knob is great for beginners and I liked being able to start him slower then increase the flow once he got the hang of it! We received this cup through the Stellar Product Testing Panel but I would recommend to buy for babies transitioning to sippy cups!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved it so much My son is the messiest kid there is and this cup is no match for him! He loved it so much it’s the only cup he wants to use. I really enjoyed that you could adjust the flow! I have to go get some more because I need them! I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it did not disappoint at all!!! Thank you for making a great training cup!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter cup I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so thankful that we were able to try it out! It took a number of tries before my baby was able to get it to work, but once he did, it worked great for him! This was his first time using something other than a bottle and it has made the transition pretty simple. I love that it has adjustable flow settings. This helped a lot for when he was just starting to use it and then allowing more flow when he got the hang of it. The lock feature is amazing and is revolutionary! Certainly helped avoid spills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sippy cup This sip cup is very easy for my son to drink and not mess his clothes. It has very good quality and the size is very good. Before I was bought another style sippy cups for him but this one exactly teach him how to drink from a glass. The lid is can be open and close very easily. Also it cleans very easily. We like this product and I recommend

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NUK Sip Trainer Cup We introduced the NUK Sip cup to our 9mo old to start transitioning her away from the bottle. The design of the cup was great, very easy to hold and I really like that our daughter could drink from any side. It's also very easy to control the flow of water, but I do wish there was an even slower flow. But overall we were very happy with the trainer cup and will continue to use it. We received the product from Steller Product Testing Panel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes practice but a really great product We received this product from Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange of for our honest review. My son recently turned 10 months old and has practiced with an open cup or four but while an adult holds it for him. He also has practiced with straws and has gotten the hang of it pretty well. This cup works great in the sense that you can adjust the flow of the beverage that comes out but in my experience, it was still a bit tricky to use, because my son is still in the habit of throwing things. The cup is a great size for his hands, dear, just knob is not super easy, nor super difficult to turn; I don’t have to worry about him, being able to turn the knob and change the flow rate of a cup. very easy to clean and take apart. Overall, it is a great product but not spill proof so if your child tends to throw things away, mine does you might have some cleaning to do until they get the hang of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional sippy cup I received this sippy cup as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I would recommend buying this cup for your babies/toddlers. My daughter was able to grasp the concept of drinking out of it pretty easily. She threw the cup quite a few times and never did it spill or break. They are very durable. Once she masters drinking from this cup, I’ll remove the lid and it will serve as a normal open top cup. I will definitely be purchasing more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter cup and easy to clean I was unsure of what the NUK Sip Trainer Cup was when The Stellar Testing Panel provided me with it to try. When I opened the package, I was so impressed as I had never seen anything like it before. I really like that my little one can drink from any side unlike many sippy cup styles out there. It’s taken some practice because she is very little, but the shape is well-designed, and she can hold it with a little help and bring it to her mouth effortlessly. We used the lowest setting for her since she is just starting out which worked flawlessly. The water did not rush into her face or make her choke and she was able to take small sips unlike other cups we have tried. I look forward to its ability to continue to be used as her skills grow by changing the flow rate. The Sip trainer cup is not for short time use, she will be able to use it for a while. I love the lock-mode feature that allows you to close the cup so you can put it in your bag, car or stroller. It’s so handy when getting ready to go somewhere, packing up and preventing spills. This cup is so innovative, I was really impressed. When I realized how easy the lid came apart for cleaning, I was even more awestruck, what an awesome product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5th times the charm As a mother of 5, I like to consider myself rather experienced with most of the aspects of training my kiddos. However, I have always trained my kiddos to use sippy cups (both with spouts and with straws) before moving into open-faced cup drinking. It is only with my youngest that I have learned that those other methods can actually be a little detrimental to the way my kiddos learn to naturally drink. This NUK Sip Trainer Cup allows me to help my youngest one practice that natural form of drinking without as much spillage as just going straight to a traditional cup. Notice I say "as much" spillage, because there is definitely still plenty of wet clothes and messes to clean. This cup has 3 modes that allow through different levels of water- we have not made it out of the absolute slowest mode yet and my son has still soaked his clothes a few times. I have even had my 2-year-old try it as he is learning "big kid cups" but has not yet mastered them. He also spills with this cup, but I do think it helps him learn. I have noticed he is more careful when using a regular cup than he was before trying this training cup so I think, if nothing else, it did help with his perception. I did want to test how much water was coming out on the different flows so I tipped it over my sink. Granted, I tipped it straight upside down, but it did seem like quite a bit of water was still allowed out in the slowest setting. With that being said, you could definitely see the flow of water increase as you turn the dial up. The lock mode is fantastic and does prevent any water from coming out at all though, so I feel like my diaper bag is safe if I toss this in. It was also super easy to clean. We only use it with water so I just rinse it quickly with some dish soap and water in the sink but it is dishwasher safe which is quite convenient. Both my younger kiddos seem to be able to hold it easily but I do wonder if handles would be any even better option (although I dislike how much extra space they take up in my cupboard, ha!). All in all, despite the extra clean up right now, I feel like this will greatly decrease the time it takes for my son to move from infant cups into regular cups so I consider it worth it. I'm excited to have this, and have the Stellar Product Testing Panel to thank for sending it to me, although all opinions are 100% my own and authentic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sippy cup My child was able to easily use this cup! We used mode number one and it worked well for our little girl! It did take her a little practice, but she got used to it! We like how the cup has different modes for different flows!! This is a great thing to add because not all babies like the same mode! The lock mode is also another cool setting, it helps keep the cup in lock while your baby enjoys her drink! It helps keep the cup from leaking! This cup is also incredibly easy to clean!! The pieces come apart easily! We use this cup pretty often and love it!! We were apart of the Stellar program panel and we absolutely love this sippy cup!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter cup for kiddos without the mess I received this sippy cup from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for an honest review! My 22 month old daughter has just started using this sippy to get her training on drinking from an open cup. We have been using this cup daily for breakfast and dinner for the past 2 weeks. My daughter is still using the 'first level' flow, but she seems comfortable with it, so I think we will be at this 'level' for a while. I think this cup is uniquely designed, but with a few minor flaws.  I love that it offers 3 adjustable flows, however, I do think the flow levels could be better indicated on the cup. For example, putting numbers 1, 2, and 3 could signify levels 1, 2, and 3. I was having a hard time telling which spout level I was on, and sometimes I still have to squint when assembling the cup to the proper flow. I love that there is a lock mode for the cup, but do think it is very hard to twist the top to the lock mode and then back to the open flow mode. It is a minor issue for us since we hardly use the lock mode. Cleaning the cup is super easy, and it is effortless to assemble it back together.  Overall, my daughter has enjoyed using this cup, and we will continue to use it until she is comfortable using an open cup.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well designed but limited use cup This cup is well-designed to meet the needs of a kid who is transitioning from a sippy cup to a regular glass. The cup has various drinking settings and spill proof protection which is good. The main issue that parents will face with this cup is cleaning. The rotating system that controls the flow has areas that can't be reached, so if you decide to use the cup for anything other than water, it is likely to create cleaning problems. You can throw it in a dishwasher, but over time the accumulation is likely in unreachable parts of the cup that I would not like as a parent. I got this product through Stellar Product Testing Panel, but I'll not buy this product also because it is only useful for a very small period and even during that period, I am not going to search for these cups every time my girl needs to drink. Other than that, it is a good idea for those who really want to eliminate the fun (or pain!) of spills from the life of kids.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My Toddler Will Not Touch It I received this cup to try for free as part of the Stellar review program. It didn't go so well though. My toddler wanted nothing to do with it. You would think it was filled with gasoline and was lit on fire prior to giving it to him. Couldn't bribe him to even handle it. That was a shame. My wife and I got to play with it though. It's an interesting design/idea. You simply adjust the knob and it adjusts the amount of flow. You can even turn it off completely and it makes it watertight. That part is pretty nice. The problem is that it closely resembles the anti-leak sippy cups that only allow flow when the child sucks on the brim a little bit. This gives you a false sense of security that this thing isn't going to leak if/when it gets knocked over. Not the case! It definitely leaks (especially when thrown by a 2 yr old.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Trainer Cup I received the NUK Sip Trainer cup from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The cup was wonderful. Easy for my kids to use. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and it was so nice to be able to choose the flow of the cup for each child’s preference. It took me a minute to figure out how to use the cup and take it apart but once I figured it out it was very easy. I would definitely purchase again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great concept but misses mark I truly love the idea of this sippy cup. You can control the flow; it’s easy to clean; and you can lock it closed to throw it in your bag for the day. For us, though, this cup just didn’t quite work out. We received it as part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel, and despite our best efforts, our 18 month old just fought it over 3 weeks. We tried all flow levels and many different liquids but it just wasn’t for her. As far as improvements—Handles could help the less dexterous little ones. And maybe a spill seal because every time this landed on the floor, a puddle quickly followed. The lock mode is great for known travel, but out kiddo sometimes just throws things off the table randomly. In all, great concept but just not right for us at this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good learning tool Thanks to the Stellar Product testing panel, I received this product for my honest review. I love that this cup has a lock mode and it truly doesn’t leak. Also there isn’t extra bits and bobs that make cleaning cups difficult. It was super easy to clean. My 2 year old is not used to drinking from an open cup so I was super excited to try this for her. I liked being able to adjust the flow so we could start slow and work our way up. Sometimes the liquid would pool at the top and she would then lick that like a puppy drinks from a bowl lol, and at first we definitely had to have her wear a bib or a towel to protect her shirt from spills but the more she practiced the better she did. She is so proud of herself for being able to drink like mommy and daddy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to hold for a younger infant The design of this cup is colorful and sleek, but our 8 month old had difficulty drinking out of it and holding onto it. The adjustable flow was great overall and we used the lowest flow possible. It was easy to clean and durable, as he threw it onto the floor repeatedly! I think this would be easier for an older infant/toddler. We’ll definitely keep it around for the toddler stage! This cup was received as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good later stage learner My son has been very difficult to train on using regular cups, I was so hopeful for this one! It didn’t disappoint my son, however is very picky. It was a little too fast flowing for him even on the lowest flow so I think it’s a great cup for later stage learning! I was happy to test it out thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel! I believe with more practice he will learn to love and use it more frequently! I did love how easily it came apart to clean and reassembling it was easy! I appreciate the lock mode to help prevent spills!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Training cup We received the cup through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We love the concept of the cup. It is easy for our child to hold and there are three different flow options. The fist flow option was hard to tell if our child was drinking much as it does not flow fast, which is good but our child would get frustrated. The second setting seemed to open the flood gates. This took a few days for our kiddo to get used to drinking, but slowly but surely she was able to drink well. We really appreciated that there was a spot flow setting. This was great for travel. I would recommend this cup, but it is not perfect. I wish there was more granularity to the flow settings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features I received this cup as part of the Steller Product Testing Panel when my daughter was 8 months old. She is interested in trying to drink from our cups so I thought she'd be ready to try this. She's not quite ready for it and needs our help. It is hard to see how much she's getting when I help her. I like how you can adjust the flow and completely close it. She can also drink out of any side which will make it easier for her. It comes apart and goes together easy. There are a lot of grooves so I'll be interested in seeing how well it cleans as we use it more. It would be nice if it had handles to help her hold it. I think once she can do it on her own, it will be used frequently.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great limited spill learning cup I love the look and feel of this cup, and am giving it 4/5 stars because I haven't been able to get a ton of the benefit of it yet, as my little guy is only 7 months and not quite there yet on sipping from a cup, but I see a lot of promise for the next few weeks and months of his development. I'd definitely recommend this cup for babies 9 or 10 months+, it's a little early for my 7-monther. The color is great and I love that it's a clear cup so I can see the level of liquid, and the twist-top is really intuitive and easy to use, from the three flow levels to the twist closure. I'm a little nervous of how this will be to clean in the future, but we've exclusively used water in it so far, and so far so good! It also fits nicely in my diaper bag, and I haven't noticed any spills when toting it around. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me this cup in exchange for my honest review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NUK sip trainer cup I have been using this sippy cup with my six month old daughter who has begun solids recently. We were able to use this cup as an introduction to water and big girl cups. I loved the adjustable lid because we were able to start at the slower flow and move up as she learns how to sip. The leak proof lid is a great addition to help with unwanted spills that are inevitable with little ones learning to use cups for the first time. The cup was also very easy to clean and dry which is a great perk as we use it often. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this supply cup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Training cup for transitioning to open cup I received this product in collaboration with Stellar review panel and enjoyed trying it out with my 13 mo old. She still seems to lack the coordination required and loves to turn the cup upside down. Thankfully this cup has a lock mode to help prevent spills. We have been practicing with the slowest flow so she doesn’t pour it all over herself. I love that it allows the different flows. There may be some her age that have mastered open cup drinking but we are not there yet and I think this cup will be a good tool to help her prepare!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the easiest learning cup Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing bc me with this sippy cup. Will start off that we are 8.5 months and the packaging did list 9+ months, but given we are in the trial stage of starting water and using cups we tried this cup out. First was bit disappointed that it does not display any type of markers to measure ounces of liquid. At these early stages it is very important to know that so I had to measure prior to putting water in cup (which is an inconvenience). Next it is difficult to get any liquid out when sitting in a height chair as it does require you to tip head back or cup significantly so not ideal for teaching in a proper eating setting. Just testing it out with the different flows over the sink, I could see it being helpful, but for a much older baby (perhaps over 1 year), but not ideal for average 9 month old indicated on the package. For the positives, it is easy to wash and fill and when ‘closed’ it did not spill any liquid. We will try again with this product as we get a bit older.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great training cup I received the product as part of the Steller Product Testing Panel. My 10 month old has been sipping from an open cup for a little while. The size of this cup is perfect - it’s small enough for a small toddle and also big enough for a small child. I LOVE the adjustable flow rates. The cup let my baby have freedom to drink on her own but also minimized spills for me! I will be purchasing a few more of these cups to use as my baby grows!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Baby might not be ready This product was provided by Stellar Product Testing Panel* The bottle is a nice design to hold and super easy to take apart and clean. Cup has easy spills and sometimes the flow comes out of two locations and very quickly. The dial of flow amount works well. I think my baby is just too small yet for usage

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Design a Little Difficult to Use Finding the right soppy/training cup is difficult. I received this Nuk product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was very excited to try it out with my twins. It wasn’t super intuitive for my 8 month old boys, however, I think as they get older they’ll like it. Right now it was too easy for them to pour the water out when it was open. I like the flow feature to determine how much can come out and the fact that you can lock the flow completely. I think this will be a great product once my kids are more proficient at drinking out of a cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Training cup great for practicing This is a man amazing cup to start training with. I was excited to use it because I’ve heard some cups with weird lids can change the muscles used to drink, so we wanted to use as normal of a cup as we could. This definitely fits that. It’s so nice that you can start with a really minimal flow and move up- the fastest is basically like drinking from an open up. We are currently on the middle flow option and it’s going great! It’s also really nice because you can have that open flow feel while still being able to lock the top and make sure it doesn’t spill in your bag. The cup itself is also perfect for little hands to hold. Cleaning is a dream- not difficult at all. I would absolutely recommend! I can’t thank the stellar product testing panel enough for giving us this to try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soppy Cup I received this sippy cup from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My child is new to sippy cups so it took some time getting used to but once he got it it worked great! I love that you can change flows and even lock the lid which makes it great for throwing in the diaper bag and not having to worry about spills. Super easy to clean and now my go to sippy cup for on the go!
