They keep getting betterAs a parent of 5 kids, I have used my fair share of sippy cups, straw cups, training cups of all shapes and sizes, 360 cups, etc. With our current youngest, we have been huge fans of the NUK training line of cups and our son is now 17-months old and able to drink successfully from normal open lid cups. They have been incredible, and while our son can drink from a regular cup, we still prefer to have him use cups with lids for when he decides to take his water on walks around the house or when we are out and about. Due to this, when we received the opportunity to test a new learner cup from NUK through the Stellar Product Testing Panel I jumped at the chance. Queue the NUK Learner Straw, and let me say this truly might be the best one yet. It is tall, so it can hold enough water to keep my camel of a child happy, while also having a top unlike one I have ever seen before that is soft so when he is drinking out of the straw, his face is against soft material instead of smashed against a hard plastic like most. The straw always has a nice bit of weight at the bottom so he can drink from most angles and it has handles which are just one of the most convenient features of cups for toddlers. I find it decreases how often the cup is thrown, but that could just be unique to my experience. Overall, this cup is convenient, easy to clean, and continues to help my son grow and develop. To say I am a huge fan would be an understatement. I can't wait to see what they come out with next!

My son loved this cupI was very happy to receive this learner cup through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I already own 8 different types of cups (in my effort to find the right one) but this was my first cup with a weighted straw. I was never interested in weighted straw cups because they seemed complicated to clean which was a huge con for me. However, this Nuk cup only has 6 pieces (cup, straw, sipping piece, ring, handles, and cap) which were all easy to clean with a basic bottle and straw brush. There are no hidden areas that mold can grow which can happen with other learner cups.
After I assembled the cup, I gave it to my son who immediately knew how to use it. I liked that the straw on the Nuk cup was more narrow so my son doesn’t choke on water while drinking like he does when using other learner cups with larger straws. The cup seems comfortable for his grip and not too heavy for him even when it’s full. The 10 oz size is useful, especially when my son was sick and I needed to track and make sure he drank enough water.
I’ve fully transitioned him to this cup as his primary water cup and he’s now drinking more water than ever. I would definitely repurchase over others I’ve tried and recommend to others.

HelpfulBella had a very easy time using the sample cup sent to us by Stellar Testing Product Panel. The handles were spaced appropriately for her little hands to grab and hold to use the cup. The slender width of the cup make it more closely resemble a bottle which is helpful as we transition to cup from bottle. Unlike other transitional cups, when Bella went to lay down and drink from the cup like a bottle it did not work because of the straw versus nipple; however also did not spill out. Perhaps this is the most important feature as it helps to prepare for using a cup and the appropriate posture to do so while ensuring as you train on usage that spills do not happen. Bella had already learned how to make her bottles and other transitional cups spill out liquid, but not yet with this cup.
The silicone straw and attachment more closely resemble the nipple of a bottle with how it is attached, helping Bella gravitate towards using this cup versus other transitional cups. The bottom of the straw does not need a separate weight and is one full piece which makes it easier for cleaning and saves time as it does not require the additional steps to remove and assemble.
The cup size itself holds more liquid than Bella would consume in one sitting; however, is at a height and width that is closer to a bottle then a cup, helping with overall comfortability during this transition time. It is an excellent water cup for our diaper bag as well — we can keep it covered and it does not spill out whe kept upright in our bag and can hold enough to last us through the day/excursion we are on.
The overall quality of the cup is 5 stars out of 5!

FavoriteI received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My daughter had try different cups to drink her milk and this one didn’t disappoint. I like the silicone straw and the size of the cup is convenient when we are out running errands. I like that it doesn’t spill and the handles are easy for my daughter to grab. Also and most important is easy to clean.

Love this learning cupWe have tried a few different straw cups with our daughter and this cup we got as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel is coming in the top grouping for her. It’s easy to hold and drink out of and she loves the flexible straw and soft top. My wife and o love the top that it comes with which makes it easy to bring on the go. She quickly learned how to drink from this new cup and likes holding onto it with the easy handles. We love the Nuk Learner Straw!

Pretty SolidThis was a pretty good training cup for learning how to use a straw. I liked that the straw was weighted to help my son be able to suck up the liquids. The cup was plastic so very light weight which was good if I had to throw it in my bag to use at a restaurant but also sometimes I think my kiddo needed something a bit more substantial and weighted down. We received it as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel but I am not sure if I would have purchased it otherwise

Mixed benefits of NUK learner strawThe NUK learner straw cup provides a happy medium between drinking liquids and eating from pouches. My child did better drinking from this cup when sitting in a highchair rather than roaming around the house, so it's a cup we'll use at mealtime rather than for anytime. The handles made it easy for my independent eater/drinker to take ownership of the cup. I don't love that there are so many parts to clean, but I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, so I'm overlooking that detail.

Love the handles but it does leak a littleI received this cup courtesy of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and wow was my daughter excited! She LOVED the handles. She doesn’t drink out of it without using them. She was also intrigued at how large this cup was, since most cups we use are shorter. At first she did have some trouble drinking from it due to the length of the straw, she would suck on it but since it was taking so long to get the drink, she would stop. However, after a few tries, she mastered it! I was surprised at the softness of the straw and sipping area, though my daughter did figure out that if there was water in the straw and she flipped it upside down..the water would come out. NOT great! But despite a little leaking, this has been a hit in our house and my daughter loves the cup!
