Bottles

Every baby is different and will require different flow rates at their own pace and stage. Our suggested age & flow rates are the following:

Slow Flow: 0+ months

Medium Flow: 0+ months or 1+ months

Fast Flow: 6+ months

You can find our suggested flow rates on each NUK® bottle packaging. Remember, everything is dependent on your baby's development.

Make sure that you are choosing a bottle with an anti-colic feature. All NUK bottles feature an innovative Anti-Colic vent system which helps to reduce the risk of infant colic. The valve allows air into the bottle during feeding which prevents an air vacuum and allows baby to feed continuously without swallowing air. In addition, always ensure your baby has a good seal around the nipple to prevent baby from swallowing air from the sides of their mouth.

BPA or Bisphenol A is a raw material used in the manufacture of the synthetic material, polycarbonate (PC). PC is used in various everday items such as plastic bags, phones, CD's and adhesives. Numerous studies have been conducted to identify the dangers of BPA intake with inconsistent and inconclusive results. However, as a safety precaution, all NUK bottles, pacifiers, cups and tableware are BPA-free.

Bottle nipples and replacement nipples are interchangeable within NUK product lines: NUK® Simply Natural™, NUK® Perfect Fit™ & Gerber® First Essentials™. NUK Simply Natural nipples are interchangeable among all Simply Natural tritan 5oz or 9oz bottles and 4oz or 9oz glass bottles. NUK Perfect Fit nipples are interchangeable among 5oz and 10oz Perfect Fit bottles, 5oz and 10oz Perfect Fit Learners and NUK soft spout and hard spout Active Cups. Gerber First Essentials nipples are interchangeable among 5oz and 9oz First Essentials bottles.

Both nipple materials have their own special characteristics. NUK® silicone nipples are made of a high-quality polymer synthetic material. This transparent silicone is heat and age-resistant and very easy to clean. Latex is a natural rubber product that is flexible, bite and tear-resistant. Since latex is a natural material, edible fats and exposure to direct sunlight may age it somewhat quicker than silicone. Which material you choose depends on your individual wishes or preferences and those of your baby too. Of course, you can always switch from one type to the other.

No, NUK Latex nipples fit most ready to feed, single-serve formula bottles.

No, Gerber First Essentials latex nipples can only be used on Gerber First Essentials 5oz or 9oz bottles.

Yes, NUK® Simply Natural™ glass bottles are available for purchase.

NUK and First Essentials™ Bottles are dishwasher-safe, top rack only. This includes all parts of the bottle: bases, nipples, rings and caps.

Most NUK® bottles and products are recyclable and are marked with the recycle symbol. Please note that Tritan bottles are not recyclable.

For hygiene and safety reasons, we recommend replacing nipples after 2 months or if any tear or crack appears.
